Samsonite is an internationally recognised brand and holds a great reputation and value. Consequently, our brand often becomes a target for fraudulent schemes that deceive our consumers by exploiting our brand image.

The most common form of scamming on the internet is called phishing, a type of cybercrime where consumers are lured into providing sensitive information, like credit card details. These types of fake posts or websites seem to offer great discounts or unmissable offers on our products, which will never be delivered.

Exercise caution when encountering websites resembling the official Samsonite websites. Our official brand website, www.samsonite.com.sg, ensures a safe and secure shopping experience for our consumers, and we remain committed to maintaining this standard.

Be aware of fraudulent Facebook pages with a similar look to the official Samsonite page. We’re working with Meta to remove and block such fraudulent pages, however consumers are advised to exercise vigilance when shopping online. While these fraudulent pages may mimic the appearance of our official brand website and showcase some of our trademarks and products, they are not genuine and are hosted on different web domains or URLs.

Samsonite consistently works with relevant authorities to remove and block such fraudulent websites. However, it is impossible to completely eradicate them and hence, we advise consumers to exercise vigilance when shopping online.

TIPS & TRICKS TO AVOID PHISHING ATTEMPTS

Verify the website's URL. Fake links often mimic the official URL by adding unnecessary words (e.g. discount) or using slight misspellings. Additionally, confirm if the website displays contact information; the absence of such details may indicate a dubious site. If uncertain about the legitimacy of a Samsonite website, consult the complete list of official Samsonite websites on www.samsonite.com.sg.

When using social media, ensure to verify the account by looking for the blue tick badge. Additionally, exercise caution when encountering flashy and excessively cheap prices in social media posts. If a deal appears too good to be true, it likely is.

Take caution with intrusive advertising. If a website overwhelms you with numerous pop-up ads pressuring you to make quick purchases before a discount expires, be cautious. Should these pop-ups prompt you to enter sensitive information such as login credentials or credit card details hastily, it's probable that you've stumbled upon a phishing website.

What payment methods does the website offer? If the only option presented is bank transfer, it should raise suspicions. Typically, a legitimate website provides multiple trusted payment methods, clearly displayed, with bank transfers being less common among them.

Check for spelling or grammar errors. While fake websites may closely resemble legitimate brand sites, you may still notice inconsistencies in the text. This could indicate that the website was hastily created for quick profits.
